I've been on a strange sleep pattern lately, and this has not helped with the over all chaos that is my life. When I mean chaos, I mean relative chaos... My life isn't actually that crazy, which is nice. The drama that is in my life mostly belongs to others, where I play a spectator or aide.
Yesterday morning I awoke at 5:45am after perhaps four hours of sleep. I woke up early to accompany my friend to his first half marathon, which was very exciting. I'd like to think of myself as the kind of person who goes the extra mile for my friends (Pun!) and try as hard as I can to be there for them when they need me to be. Yesterday was not an exception.
Post-race, I ended up going to the city to Marrakech, a Morrocan place with dancing, hookah, and food. It was my friend's birthday. I think he was very happy that all sort of people showed up. :) However, I didn't get back home until after 1am... Ew. And I fell asleep in the car, which affected my sleep so that I couldn't fall back asleep right away. :p
Around 3:15am, we had an earthquake!
How do I know I'm very Californian? When earthquakes don't bother me in the slightest. They don't phase me at all. Also, when I can pretty accurately guess the magnitude of the quake before the results are posted on the USGS website. :)
Anyway, enough boring stuff, This weekend, I'm cleaning my boots, getting some stuff together to donate and likely taking Stephanie back to San Jose. I've also decided that this week, I am going to make char siu bao, which are Chinese barbecued pork buns. Pictures to come when this happens!
I also told my friend I was going to post pictures up on how to make chocolate-dipped candied ginger... So I'll do that too! Maybe I'll tint it red in light of Chinese New Year, which is Thursday. :D
