On The Heels of Making My Weekends Less Insane...

I love blogs. Lately, I've been obsessed with redecorating and crafting, so I have been getting into some heavy duty knitting and home-love blogs. Among my favorites are Apartment Therapy, Ikea Hackers, and Deliciously Organized. I've also joined Ravelry, which is a crazy site for knitters and crotcheters with free (!!) patterns and more yarns than you can shake a needle at. It's delightful. I've been inspired to:

  1. Use black-and-white photos of my favorite celebrities in black and white frames to dress things up.
  2. Re-decorate my room in some totally crazy ways.
  3. Knit a pretty new cowl scarf.

About three weeks, I identified the need to stop making my weekends so bloody insane. Well, I didn't listen to me so where did I end up? Sick. As a dog! I lost almost two days of work (nearly a third by being utterly incoherent) and a good chunk of the weekend, sleeping most of the time and staring at my computer monitor the rest of the time, with half a lung and even less breath. Guess that was the rest I needed.

In truth, it wasn't all my busy weekends' fault... I've been stressed out. But it's given me some nice perspective on the kind of life I need to live - one where I'm not driving myself into the ground every day and weekend. This weekend was quite low-key: I slept in, knitted, watched some shows and movies (who doesn't love The Notebook?) and actually read. Reading was utterly enjoyable. I've got to get me a new book to start reading.

Since I am *finally* updating my little blog, I will post about a cooking adventure from about a week and a half back: my char-siu bao cooking adventure.
